Bill Burkhardt pass away last week.  He worked for the State of Michigan in their jobs program.  In particular, he helped students find part time work and employers part time workers.  I met him at Calvin College in the summer of 1976.  I was looking for part time work and he had a position that was perfect for me.  And he seemed to get an immense sense of satisfaction when ever he matched a worker with a job.  Besides his ability to find jobs for students, I was always amazed at his ability to remember names.

Rest in peace Bill Burkhardt.  You will be sadly missed.

If you are eating in, our local McDonalds has taken to bringing your food to your table.  When you order, they give you a plastic placard with a number to set on your table so that they know where to deliver your meal.  Unfortunately, your food is usually ready before you have even found a place to sit.  So, your food ends up following you around the dinning area.  What ever.

I get annoyed at the telephone scammers who call pretending to fix my PC.  Lately, I have started chatting with them about where they are from, how much they make, do they like their work.  And surprisingly enough they will carry on a conversation with me about their work.  Go figure.

A convicted felon is running for the Senate.  And, there is no law to prevent it.  I guess while being a convicted felon will prevent you from holding some jobs, being a Senator isn’t one of them.  I guess that explains a lot of things.

I really enjoy staying at hotels that have waffle machines in their breakfast lineup.  Recently, I was preparing to have a waffle when the spigot on the batter dispenser broke off while I was using it.  Batter ran all over the place until it was empty.  It created quite a mess.  I never did get a waffle.

When Arby’s purchased the BW3 chain, I knew that it was only a matter of time before those BW wings appeared on the Arby’s menu.  Well, they have appeared and I will have to try them out.

The ad for the new drug states that type II diabetes could increase you risk of a heart attack by 4 times.  Of course, it might not increase your risk at all.  But that information won’t induce you to get that new drug.

Some of the characters in the new Star Wars movie are wearing high waist-ed pants.  Unfortunately, if men wish to adopt that look, they will have a hard time finding them.  In fact, the only good source for high waist-ed pants is in the maternity department.   So I guess it depend on how much you want that look.

The ad claims that they have super fast internet speed.  25 M!  Well, given that my home internet speed is 100 M, 25 M is not super fast.  Of course, if your internet speed is only 1M, then 25 M is super fast.  So, it is all relative.

The instructions for heating my microwave soup called for me to punch a hole in the film with a fork.  Unfortunately, my soup sprayed up through those holes just like a lawn sprinkler.  The mess was spectacular.
