After a depressed pilot crashed a passenger jet killing 150 people, the FAA decided not to require mental health checks for all pilots.  However, if the pilot decided to purchase a gun, the pilot would be required to undergo background checks to make sure that he would not use that gun to harm anyone.  Nice.
