{"id":5233,"date":"2012-06-19T18:16:47","date_gmt":"2012-06-19T23:16:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nedandkathyswift.com\/?p=5233"},"modified":"2012-06-19T18:16:47","modified_gmt":"2012-06-19T23:16:47","slug":"trader-joes-chocolate-chips","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nedandkathyswift.com\/?p=5233","title":{"rendered":"Trader Joe&#8217;s Chocolate Chips."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Trader Joes has been having a run on chocolate chips lately.\u00a0 But, it isn\u2019t from kids looking for cheap chocolate treats.\u00a0 Rather, it is from women who maintain a kosher table.<\/p>\n<p>For many years, the Trader Joe\u2019s chocolate chips were classified as Parve under the kosher laws.\u00a0 This meant that the chocolate chips were neither considered a meat nor a dairy.\u00a0 So those maintaining a kosher table did not have to worry about keeping them separate from meats or dairies.<\/p>\n<p>But, due to a change in their packaging, the chocolate chips are now classified as dairy.\u00a0 When this change was discovered, there was a rush to buy up the chocolate chips in the old style packaging.\u00a0 And thus, there was a\u00a0 run on chocolate chips at Trader Joe\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>I guess this means that they can no longer put chocolate in their chili.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trader Joes has been having a run on chocolate chips lately.\u00a0 But, it isn\u2019t from kids looking for cheap chocolate treats.\u00a0 Rather, it is from women who maintain a kosher table.
