Counterfeit Corn Flakes.

In an effort to prevent bootlegging, Kelloggs is experimenting with lasering their logo on their corn flakes. And, while I don’t know if they plan to do every flake or just a random few, the idea is still interesting.

I guess I didn’t know that there was that much of a market for counterfeit corn flakes. But, I do have to wonder how effective lasering will be. After all, if you can afford to make counterfeit corn flakes, you can probably afford to have them lasered too.

I will never be able to buy corn flakes again with out wondering if they are real or fake.

  1. Where did you hear about Kellog’s “experiment”? What makes you believe that sort of thing is real. Sounds like more of a made up story.

  2. Motley Fool, 10/15/09 but if you Google on “Kellogg Laser” you will find about 100 other publications carrying the article.

Some produce will soon be lasered with the “item code” and the origin of the product. FWIW.
