Poisonous Pine Nuts.

About 20 years ago, I was introduced to pine nuts as a garnish for a spinach salad.  I absolutely loved them.  But, they were expensive.

Recently, I was in Sam’s club and spotted a large bag of them for a very reasonable price.  So, I purchased them.

Now, today, I am reading that some pine nuts are poisonous and not fit for human consumption.

Traditionally, pine nuts come from Italy and are expensive.  But lately, cheap pine nuts are being imported from China.  It is the China imports that need to be checked.

The editable pine nuts are long in shape.  The poisonous pine nuts are not.

Eating the poisonous pine nuts will leave a metallic taste in your mouth which will last for several days.  While it is not fatal, it is also not desirable.

I need to check my bargain nuts as I have yet to use any.  May be they weren’t such a good deal.

When Barna first went exploring churches, he was a student at Rutgers University in New Jersey and was about to be married. He and his fiancee, both Catholics at the time, visited different types of churches and found an evangelical congregation that focused on the Bible — and that was the church they joined.
