I see that Menards has started carrying breakfast cereal. Some how, a lumber/hardware store is not the place I would go to buy cereal. I can understand candy and snack foods as they appeal to impulse buyers and I can understand cleaning supplies but not breakfast food.
It is kind of like, “yeah, I need a 4×8 sheet of 1/2 plywood, a pound of #6 nails and a box of Wheaties.”
What is next, produce?
What’s the big deal! They moved their employee break room upstairs to some empty space in their mezzanine, made the break room bigger and more private, and then they placed a few aisles of convenience items for their guests inside the store. With today’s gas prices, it’s kinda nice that I can buy some frames and other supplies for my at-home business at Menards, and then pick up some milk, a frozen pizza or two and some chips for the kids without having to make another stop. If you think they turned the store into a grocery store now, you need to shop there a little more often to realize that’s not true at all! Holly
