In a recent TV ad, the main character makes a series of “I’m never…” statements.  But, then he ends up doing the very thing that he said he wouldn’t do.  Finally at the end of the ad, he says to his wife that he is “never letting her go”.

Everyone thinks that this is a romantic ending.  But really, when you think about it, you realize that he has never kept any of his “never” proclamations.  So why would you expect him to keep the last one?
