Some people give names to their cars:  Big Red, Old Blue, The Green Machine.  And of course, naming boats is an expected tradition.  And, I understand that.  But, I once knew a man who liked to name appliances.  The washer, dryer, fridge and freezer each had a name.  Even the shop vac had a name.  I guess he was a person with too much time on his hands and an active imagination.
