Saturday night, we were supposed to get a major snow storm. Starting at around 6 PM, we were going to get up to 4 inches of snow. The snow was to end at daybreak and then we were supposed to get freezing rain.

When we went to church Saturday night, we discovered that church had been canceled. Bummer, but we knew that the winter storm was a major concern. So we went home and prepared for the weather.

The snow blower was gassed and the snow shovels were located from last winter. We checked the weather channel to track the progress of the storm. We were ready for “weather”!!

After we ate supper, Kathy went out into the hot tub. A couple of seconds later, she returned to put on a hat. It seems that the rain that was scheduled for the AM had arrived. No more snow, just rain.

All and all, by 8 PM we had received about 1 inch of snow. And the freezing rain never developed.

So much for the weather service. “It will be sunny with a chance of rain. Tonight, it will be dark.”
