Comcast.

The city owned cable company was recently sold to Comcast. And since the Lowell cable system was old, Comcast has been updating it. Part of the updating included a new high speed internet service.

So, this week, we all got notices from Comcast showing us their new high speed internet service options. The letter stated that we had to choose our new data service in the next couple of weeks or we will be disconnected.

Now, while the letter gave us different data options and prices, it neglected to explain what the different options were. Instead, it suggest that we call their service desk to schedule an installation. Since I found the information that they provided to be very unhelpful, I decided to check out their website.

I found their website to be totally worthless. It was not designed to dispense information. Rather, it was designed to “take your order”.

Out of frustration, I decide to place an order just to see if I could get any more information about their offerings. But, after taking my zip code and street address, the site announced that high speed internet was not available in my area at this time.

Why do I have bad vibes about Comcast?
