The other day while I was eating in a restaurant, I noticed a container labeled “imitation sour cream”.

Imitation?  How hard can it be to make the real thing?    What’s next, imitation yogurt?

It was so cold in Chicago on Monday that the local zoo made the polar bear come inside.  Zoo officials explained that polar bears in the wild have much more fat on them than what the zoo bear has.  So, the bear could not withstand the cold weather.

I knew that there was a reason for my weight gain.

I have always wondered about the First-class seating on airplanes.  First of all, they get to board first.  This means that they get to have all of the coach passengers with their carry on luggage, shuffle past them.  Personally, I prefer to be the last to board the plane for that very reason.

Second, they put the First-class passengers in the front of the plane. On a normal flight,  this isn’t a problem.  However, in the even of a crash, the front of the plane is the first to go while the tail stays intact.

So, I guess the First-class passengers pay extra so that they can have everyone shuffle past them and so that they can be the first to go.

Yesterday, when it was -8, I saw a teenage girl walking through the parking lot wearing a parka and gym shorts.  Maybe she has found an alternative to shaving her legs.

The other day while traveling through the Cleveland Airport, there was a mosaic of their city complete with big smoke stacks which were bellowing smoke.  The mosaic must be older than the EPA.

The telephones in our room in Cambridge were designated as “Anti-Bacterial.”  This made me wonder if I could use the phone in place of hand sanitizer?

The State offices in Lansing are closed today due to a snow emergency declared by the city.  It seems that the mayor of Lansing does not want any traffic in city until after the snow emergency is under control.

Now, I have worked in downtown Lansing for 25 years and have never heard of the city declaring a snow emergency.  But then again, in the 25 years that I have worked in Lansing, I have only ever seen one Lansing snow plow and that was just a pickup truck with a blade on the front.

But regardless, it is still a day off with pay and it really is rotten outside so, I am happy to be inside where it is warm.

I looked for the syringe disposal.  There wasn’t any.  I guess if you can’t dispose of your syringes in the air terminal, you should leave them on the plane.

The other day when we were in Cambridge MA. we had dinner at one of the local restaurants.  And while we were raised in the country, we realize that them city folk might not know the difference between a cow and a lamb.

This Christmas, we spent a week in Cambridge MA. at the Hyatt.  This is the view from our room on the eleventh floor.  The expensive rooms have their own personal balcony.  We were not there to lounge in the hotel so we really didn’t care.
