The liberal media is crying “foul” over the DC shooter!  And not because of the people he killed.  They are crying foul because he didn’t use an assault rifle with a high capacity magazine!

Damn!! Damn!! Double Damn!! Hell!!

At first, the news networks announced that he use an assault rifle. But in reality, he used a standard hunting shotgun.  Of course, when the new media discovered that their agenda was blown, they announced that he had considered buying an assault rifle.  Yeah right!  Cover your liberal asses!

No assault rifle, no high capacity magazine.  Just a 5 shot shotgun.  That means that if he fired all 24 of the shells that he purchased, he reloaded 4 times!

How could he do that with out being shot?   No one was there with a gun to stop him.

Sorry Joe Biden.

While the machine may say Pepsi on the outside, the inside contains nothing but Coke products.  Go figure!

When I was in Meijer (regional grocery chain) the other day, I noticed that the lawn sculptures were on sale for 60% off.  So, at that price, I purchased a second bird for my back yard.  And, since I was low on seed for my feeders, I also purchased 40 lbs. of sunflower seeds.

As I am going through the store, people are noticing the 5 foot bird in my cart.  Then they spot the sunflower seeds.  At that point, I comment that I don’t know how much he eats.  I then pet his head and state that if we run out, I will just have to buy some more.

People will either laugh or turn away in horror.  Go figure.

When I first started working for the State of Michigan, my job title was that of Systems Administrator.  A few months later, I started receiving trade magazines dealing with “systems” of all types including septic systems.  Interesting.

Later, my job title changed to that of “engineer”  so my trade magazines changed as well.  I now get magazines for Civil engineering, Aerospace engineering and Bioengineering.  Well, OK.

Now, my job title is that of Systems Architect.  So, I get trade magazines  for window designs, ceramic tile, roofing, building steel and lighting.  Whatever.

I am sure that the folks in the mail room must wonder what it is that I do.

Displaying antique farm equipment in the yard seems to be popular these days.  Some people have old wooden wheels, others have old horse drawn plows and others have old ox yokes.

So, in keeping with this trend, one of my neighbors now displays an antique manure spreader.  Of course, I am not sure if he is serious about his display or just making a statement.  Regardless, the manure spreader is promptly displayed in his front yard.

We saw an ad the other day which stated that their chickens were fed a diet of corn and Marigolds.  Now, while I could understand the corn, the Marigolds remained a mystery.  So, I did some research.

It seems that when chickens are fed Marigolds, their skins develops a yellow hue.  And a yellow chicken is preferred by consumers over a white one.  So, the chickens are fed Marigolds.  And, I have to admit that a yellow chicken is much more appealing than a plan white one.

I wonder if the chickens would turn red if you fed them beets?

The other night, I needed a band-aid.  But to my dismay, I discovered that all that I had were the very large ones.  So, I made due with what I had and added band-aids to my shopping list.

But, when I got to the store, I was shocked at the various options available.  The variety pack of large, medium and small band-aids had been replaced with over 20 different variations.

Besides the jumbo, large, medium and small, they now have butterfly, latex free, plastic, cloth, waterproof, antiseptic, knee and elbow and blister.  Plus, they come in an assortment of colors from natural to clear.

I selected a box of large cloth band-aids knowing that if I need anything special, they are available in the store.

Back in the 1918s, there was a flu epidemic called the Spanish Flu or H1N1.  And seeing all of the 1918 dates on the grave stones in the local cemetery I can believe the magnitude of this out break.

Most flu s kills the young, the old and those with failing health.  But the Spanish Flu was different in that it killed mainly the healthy.  It killed by causing normal immune systems to malfunction and attack the healthy body.  Thus, those with compromised immune systems survived while those with healthy immune systems died.

Of course, modern medicine is much different than what it was 100 years ago.  So, conditions what were once fatal in the early 1900s are easily addressed today.

Flu epidemics are the new media hypes.  If fact, there have been so many hyped flu epidemics that I can’t even remember them all.

The first flu epidemic to be hyped was the Swine Flu back in the 70’s.  As a member of the Army National Guard, I was required to get vaccinated against this flu.  I guess it was so that we could help pick up all of the bodies of those whose died from the Swine Flue.  But, it never materialized.

Then there was the Hong Kong flu and the bird flu and the Asian flu.  I can’t even remember all of the flues that, according to the media, were going to wipe out the worlds population.

And while I get a flu shot every year, I ignore the media and their latest flu epidemics.

I now live by my self so, I am solely responsible for cleaning.  And since my time is limited, I do spot cleaning rather than taking a whole day to clean my house.  This means that I only clean as needed.

For example, I have toilet brushes and cleaner by each toilet.  If I see that the toilet needs cleaning, I clean it on the spot.  And, since it only takes a couple of minutes to clean, my toilet gets cleaned more often.

Likewise, I have sink cleaning products underneath each sink.  So, if the sink is looking bad, a little soft scrub and a sponge and it is done.

This approach may not be perfect but it works for me.  My house is much cleaner without taking a whole block to time to accomplish it.
