Online Sales?
More and more stores are closing because they claim that they can’t compete with online sales. While I understand their reasons, I believe that they are really closing because they have made too many bad business decisions.
Premium Linen.
The ad for our hotel noted that they had premium linen. Well OK, I will add that to my “must have” list along with a private bathroom.
Lane Change Warning Alarm.
Some of the new cars have lane change warning alarms. Essentially, if you start to change lanes without using your turn signal, an alarm goes off just in case you are unintentionally changing lanes. Well, I could be wrong but I suspect that this feature will annoy a large segment of the population.
Assembled In America.
The TV ad said that their product was assembled in America. But assembled in America is very different than made in America.
Parking In Chicago.
Parking in Chicago is outrageous. One ramp that we pulled into wanted $48 for 4 hours. Needless to say, we moved to a different ramp.
Chicago Bag Tax.
Chicago has a $.07 tax on all bags. I guess they are trying to protect the environment. Maybe they can use the money to off set their pension deficit.
Sidewalks, The Express Lane For BMWs.
While visiting downtown Chicago, I couldn’t help but notice that when the traffic light turns red, the BMW drivers pull up on to the sidewalks and proceed on through the intersection. I guess they can afford to get a traffic ticket.
Perfectionist Versus Critiques.
The difference between a perfectionist and a critique is that a critique judges your work while a perfectionist judges their own work.
Landfill Wildlife Preserves.
A local landfill company boasts that their landfills are also wildlife preserves. Well, I guess that is true. After all, raccoons and rats are wildlife.
