San Francisco is considering a ban on public nudity. If adopted, the only time you could be nude is at street fairs or parades.
Well OK. I can see that they have their priorities well established.

I recently replaced my toilet with a high performance model. Amongst the features of this new toilet is a “quick release toilet seat”.
Now, I had to pause and reflect on a “quick release toilet seat” and what that might entail. I suppose, if you got your butt stuck in the toilet, a quick release seat might be good safety feature.
Reflecting further, I have “quick release hubs” on my bicycle. They allow me to change wheels quickly.
I suppose the same could be true for my toilet seat. After all, if I need to change my toilet seat, those quick releases might come it handy. Not only would they work for blowouts, they would also work if I want to install a “high performance” seat.
Well, what ever. If you have a high performance toilet, you also need a high performance seat.
No, it is not the name of a Spanish ship. It is the name of the newest addition to my house.
I an effort to do my part for society and the environment, I have installed a water saving toilet. No more watching the water rise and see everything swirling around. 3 seconds and it is done. Even the cat gets bored watching it. And, with the amount of water that it saves, it should pay for itself in less than 30 years.
I went to Meijer (regional grocery chain) to buy some Lasagna noodles. Not only did I buy the noodles, I also bought 3 gallons of peanut oil. Talk about impulse buying.
20 some years ago, when I first started working in Lansing, one of my co-workers was having a birthday celebration. So, we took her out to a Lansing Chinese buffet for lunch. The food was so horrible that I never wanted to go back again.
Well, fast forward 20 some years and a co-worker of mine was having a retirement luncheon. And, he picked this same Chinese buffet.
Now, while I still had bad memories of the last time that I ate there, I though, it has been 20 some years, surly the food has improved. Well, it hadn’t. It was still the same garbage that I remembered. YUCK.
I sure that it will be another 20 years before I go back again.
Hostess has announced that they are shutting down the business. After 80 years, their products will no longer be available, including my favorite, the Twinkies.
I grew up eating Twinkies. My mother even packed them in my lunch when I had school trips. In fact, that was the only thing that I remember about those packed lunches.
As I got older, it seemed like the recipe changed and they weren’t as good. But, none the less, I still enjoyed them.
I have to confess that it has been years since I have had one. Since I married a wonder woman who liked to bake for me, I ate her products instead.
Hopefully, someone will buy the company and continue the products but only time will tell. In the mean time, I can only cherish the memories of my youth.
The owner of a local window company has been running some interesting TV ads lately. The ads show him sitting in a hot tub drinking wine with four beautiful young women .
Now, I am not sure what the correlation is between getting new windows and sitting in a hot tub with four beautiful women. If I get new windows, will I get four beautiful women? I doubt it. But, I do find the ads to be amusing.
Michigan had 6 proposals on this years ballot. And ads for these proposals seemed to run non-stop on the TV in the morning and in the evening. And they all claimed the same results if they don’t pass; Policemen and firemen will be laid off, school teachers will loose their jobs and the elderly will be hungry and homeless.
Fortunately, the citizens of Michigan saw through the scare tactics and made the right decisions.
In the wake of the election, 30 states have started campaigns to secede from the union. While I sympathize with there feelings, it isn’t going to happen. A bunch of states tried that 150 years ago with no success.
The election is over and I am very disappointed with the national results. I pray that the country can survive four more years.
