The Bees Nest.

The other Sunday, when the kids were over, they discovered an in ground wasp nest in the yard.  Hoping to kill all of the wasps, the kids stuck a large stick in the hole.

Well, the determined wasps not only excavated around the stick, they ended up digging a hole the size of a volley ball in my yard.

I went out tonight and sprayed the hole with bee killer. It is much more effective than a large stick.

Hungry Birds.

Forget Angry Birds, I have hungry birds.

Normally, I fill my bird feeders once a week.  Lately, I have been filling them twice a week.  In the past, I would be suspicious of a squirrel raiding my feeders, but, I have seen as many as a dozen birds on the feeders at the same time.  Plus, the seed seems to go down at a uniform rate amongst all of the feeders. And, on days when I am home, I can observe the seed going down.

I guess the dry conditions have created a food shortage.

Dr Oz!

If you remember, the original wizard of Oz manifested himself as a huge man with lots of smoke and thunder and lightening. But, in reality, he was just a small man behind a curtain making a lot of noise for himself.

And this is where today’s Dr. Oz. is at. He makes a lot of smoke and thunder and lightening, but he is still just the small man behind the curtain.  He declares this and that but in reality, we all just need to click our ruby slippers and leave Dr Oz behind in our life.

Death Wish!

The other morning, just after dawn, as I was driving down a wooded country road, I saw a peculiar movement on the opposite side of the road.

When I focused my attention in that direction, I discovered that it was a bicycle rider, with no lights, wearing black pants and a dark green and black shirt.  He blended in well with the country side.

Since there was nothing on the news, I guess he completed his ride with out incident.  Either that or they haven’t found the body yet.

My Bedroom.

A year ago, I moved my bed to the far end of the room to install the new flooring.  But, because I decided to remodel the kitchen, I was not able to start the bedroom project until just last month.   My bedroom is now half finished. Soon, I will start on the other half of the bedroom.

It seems good to have my bed back where it belongs.  Even after a year, I would still wake up in the night and wonder where I was sleeping.  Hopefully, the rest of the bedroom will go quicker.

Who Are You?

The other Sunday in church, a young woman came up to me and gave me a big hug and told me that it was so nice to see me again.  She said that she and her husband lived out of state and were back for a visit.  I smiled and told her that it was nice to see her again.  And, while she looked some what familiar, I had no idea who she was.  Oh well.

The Step Down Is Gone!

For the past year, I have been trying to install hardwood floors in my bedroom.  And, I have had numerous set backs.  So, I have become accustom to a slight step down from the hallway into my bedroom.

But, no longer.  I have started adding the hardwood flooring to my bedroom  There is now a smooth transition from the hallway to the bedroom.
