Our local news team was out covering the recent storm damage.  While standing next to a tree that had been snapped off from the high winds, they commented that the tree was healthy in spite of the fact that it was rotten on the inside.  Well OK.

The other day I saw a recipe on line that I liked.  So, I decided to email to myself so that I would have easy access.  To ensure that I wasn’t a robot, the web site asked me to describe the enclosed picture in two words.

The picture was difficult to discern but it looked like numbers on a house.  So, I typed “house address” but that was incorrect.  Next, I tried street address but that too was incorrect.

So, I asked for a different picture.  And again, I was given a picture of numbers on a house.  And, as before, I entered “house address” and again I was wrong.

Finally, I entered the literal numbers that I saw.  This time I was correct.

I don’t understand how a four digit number stream constitutes two words.  I guess this is intended to confuse robots.

A local coffee shop is now selling “Frozen Hot Chocolates”.  Isn’t that called a chocolate milk shake?

In my office building, it is not unusual to see someone delivering pizza.  It is also not unusual to see someone delivering flowers.  But this morning, I saw someone delivering both pizza AND roses.  I guess if the roses don’t work maybe the pizza will.

Nothing says “world traveler” like European butter.  Of course, since Europeans don’t salt their butter, it guess it has been modified for American tastes.

I guess if you are in a real hurry, you cook with fresh hash brown potatoes instead of the frozen ones.  Throw in a couple of the store bought hard boiled eggs and some precooked bacon and you have breakfast!

Nothing says summer like a slice of cold watermelon.  And while it may taste the same, watermelon needs to be red and not yellow.

I just received an email stating that I have 49.5 million USD waiting for me in a Hong Kong bank.  To receive it, all I have to do is respond to the email and follow the instructions.

Of course, I have no idea where that money came from.  Perhaps the Publishers Clearing House deposited it there by mistake.  Or, maybe some long lost relative put it there and forgot to tell me about it.

Actually, this is a scam that is intended to cheat me out of my own money.  And, I am sure that there are people out there who will fall for it.  Or as W.C. Fields once said, “You can’t cheat an honest man.”

This is my grandson.  He is having his first experience with grandpas’ barbequed ribs.  Judging by the look on his face, he is really enjoying them.

A hospice care facility in west Michigan is closing its door next month and 40 people will loose their jobs.  The reason?  The Affordable Health Care Act made it impossible to operate any longer.  I am sure that Obama Care will claim many more victims in the near future.
