Well, I received my new laptop from the Geek Squad.  The fix?  Why, they reset the software for me.

Since this is the second time that my software needed to be reset, I have to ask why this happens.  And, when will it happen again?

I am sorry, software should not need to be reset.  And, if it does, then there is something wrong with the software.  Regardless, I have no confidence in this repair.

Well, my PC came back from the repair shop for the 3rd time.  This time, the Geek Squad reset the BIOS.

I have my doubts as to whether resetting the BIOS really fixed the problem or if the PC just started working again because they were puttering with it.  Time will tell.

This picture was taken outside of a rest area on the Tennessee interstate.  They certainly know how to treat their law officers.  I wonder if there are reserved stalls too?

One thing that I have noticed out here in Corolla NC, is that there are no mail boxes.  I mean, there are literally hundreds of expensive cottages here but not one single mail box.  Nor is there a Post Office.

I find it all to be VERY STRANGE.

While traveling in North Carolina, we noticed signs that were advertizing “boiled peanuts”.  Now, I am not sure what boiled peanuts are all about but they don’t sound very appealing to eat.  It seems like they would be rather rubbery.  Maybe they are for people with bad teeth.

While driving along the interstate in Michigan, it is not uncommon to see signs announcing that they are mowing the road sides.  But, in Kentucky and Tennessee, you see signs announcing that they are blasting the road sides.

Well, I guess that it one way to control growth.

When Edward Snowden first defected, the media led me to believe that he was just a poor naive computer geek who woke up one morning and realized that he was doing something very wrong.  And so, I had mixed feelings about his culpability.

But, today, he revealed that he was indeed a US spy who had been involved in many covert activities in both the US and abroad.  And that he was fully cognizant of his actions.

In short, Snowden knew that he was a spy when he defected and therefore has betrayed his country.

This is an Osprey nest.  It sits high above the ground on a light pole.  You can see the birds head sticking up out of the nest.   And while that light pole is in the middle of a go-cart track, the Osprey doesn’t seem to mind.

While walking on the beach in Corolla NC, we happened upon this little sand crab.  Apparently, we caught him out of his hole.

One of the local restaurants on the Outer Banks is called Dirty Dick Crab House.  Dirty Dicks motto is “I got my crabs from Dirty Dicks”.  Enough said.
