Heat And Serve Cinnamon Rolls.

I am a sucker for cinnamon rolls.  My late wife made the very best cinnamon rolls in the world.  So, when I saw a box of “heat and serve” cinnamon rolls at Meijer (regional grocery chain), I thought, why not give them a try.  After all, I needed something to serve my guests for breakfast over the holidays.

When I opened the box, the rolls were nice and big and covered with frosting.  They looked yummy!

The instructions said to heat each roll individually, so I sliced out a roll and popped it into the microwave.  A few seconds later, my frosting was slowly melting into my roll.  Great!

I put my roll on the table and went at it with a knife and fork.  But, to my dismay, this roll was the same as any other roll in the pastry section.  The only difference was that this roll was warm, a state that I could have obtained by nuking  any pastry in the store.

In short, there was nothing special about these cinnamon rolls.  My guests were just as disappointed as I was.  I ended up throwing most of them into the trash.

Brain Washing.

Menards is one of my favorite hardware/lumber stores.  But, every time I go into the store, the overhead music is so loud that I have a problem hearing what the store clerks have to say.  But, since the overhead music is advertising for Menards, the volume level may contribute to customer brain washing.  Either that or the store manager is hard of hearing.

Meijer Fresh Deli Soup.

The other day when I was in the deli section of Meijer (regional grocery chain) I noticed that they now carry fresh refrigerated soup in individual serving containers.  Since it was a cold and  icky day, hot soup sounded good to me.  So, I bought some broccoli cheddar.

It was fantastic!!  Good flavor, good texture and just the right amount of salt.  While is was a little pricier than the canned stuff, it was well worth it.

I will be trying the other varieties very soon.

The Suspected Sink Hole.

A family in Florida awoke to discover that their entire front lawn had sunk into the ground.  Authorities suspect that it might be caused by a sink hole.

Hello!!!  If not a sink hole, then what caused it?  Did a thief come along and steal their front lawn?  Maybe the hole was caused by a meteorite.

Some of these authorities need to get a real job.
